Community guidelines

In plain language: Social in Kustos is optional and private by default. If you choose to share, keep it supportive: no harassment, hate, sexual content, spam, impersonation, or PED sales. Report anything that crosses a line to support@kustosapp.com — a human reviews every report — and appeal any enforcement decision there too.

Kustos’s social features are optional and private by default. If you turn them on, they exist for one thing: training with people you trust. These guidelines explain what we encourage, what’s not allowed in the feed, comments, and profiles, and what happens when someone breaks the rules.

The spirit

Nothing you log is shared unless you choose to share it. Your profile can be private, and every workout you post has its own visibility — everyone, followers, or just you. You control the defaults in Settings under Privacy & Social.

Because sharing is a choice, the feed isn’t a stage. It’s a training log you let people read. The best version of it looks like a good gym: honest efforts, real numbers, and people who want each other to get stronger.

What’s encouraged

  • Sharing finished workouts, PRs, and slow, unglamorous progress.
  • Comments that act like a good spotter: specific, supportive, useful.
  • Taking on a friend’s challenge — and being a good sport about the result.
  • Honest questions. Nobody was born knowing what RPE means.

What’s not allowed

These rules apply everywhere other people can see you: feed posts, captions, photos, comments, usernames, and profiles.

  • Harassment and bullying. No mocking someone’s body, lifts, or experience level. No pile-ons, no targeted insults, no unwanted repeated contact.
  • Hate. Attacking people for who they are — race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or anything similar — gets no second chance here.
  • Nudity and sexual content. Gym photos are fine. Sexualized or explicit content is not.
  • Spam and self-promotion. No link dumping, affiliate schemes, engagement bait, or selling services in comments. The feed is for training, not funnels.
  • Impersonation. Don’t pose as another person, athlete, or brand, and don’t claim credentials you don’t have.
  • Doping and PED sales. Selling, sourcing, or soliciting steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs is banned outright. Talking about the topic honestly is not dealing; offering a hookup is.
  • Glorifying dangerous technique. Heavy training is the point of the app. Content that dares others into unsafe lifts or celebrates training through injury is not.
  • Minors’ safety. Kustos is for people 13 and over. Sexualizing minors or making predatory contact with them means an immediate permanent ban, and we report to authorities where the law requires it.

Reporting

If something crosses a line, report it: email support@kustosapp.com with a link or a screenshot of the post, comment, or profile. Reports are reviewed by a human, and we never reveal who filed a report. In-app report and block controls are in development, and this page will be updated the moment they ship.

How enforcement works

We match the response to the violation, in this order:

  1. Warning — we tell you what rule was broken and expect it not to repeat.
  2. Content removal — the offending post, comment, or profile element comes down.
  3. Temporary suspension — repeated violations pause your access to social features.
  4. Permanent ban — you lose access to Kustos’s social features for good.

Severe violations — threats, PED sales, anything endangering minors — skip the ladder and go straight to a permanent ban. We look at context before acting, and we’ll tell you which rule was involved.

A ban from social features doesn’t delete your training data. Your logged history and its export are never paywalled, and they don’t disappear because of a moderation decision — see our terms for how account termination works.

Appeals

If you think we got a call wrong, email support@kustosapp.com with your username and a short description of what happened. A human reviews every appeal, and if we made a mistake, we’ll reverse it and say so.

These guidelines work alongside our terms of service and privacy policy. We’ll update them as the community grows, and the date at the top always reflects the latest revision.
