Getting started
Log your first workout
You can log a workout in Kustos within a minute of installing it: tap Get Started (no signup, no personal data required), start an empty workout, add an exercise, type weight and reps, and check each set off. Everything saves on your device instantly, so logging never needs a connection.
Start a workout
- Open Kustos and tap Get Started on the welcome screen. This starts a guest session — the app is fully usable with no account.
- Go to the Workout tab and tap Empty workout. The active workout screen opens and the Duration timer starts.
- Tap Add Exercise. Search the 450-exercise catalog by name, or filter by muscle and equipment. Select an exercise and tap Add 1 exercise.
If you’ve already built a routine, you can skip the empty start: tap the play button on a routine card (or open it and tap Start Routine) and every exercise arrives pre-filled with its target sets and reps.
Log your sets
- In the set row, enter the weight and the reps. Kustos supports kg and lbs — pick your unit in Settings. You can also record RPE per set.
- Tap the checkmark at the right end of the row to complete the set. The row highlights, and the Sets and Volume stats in the header update. Sets without a checkmark don’t count — that’s deliberate, so half-finished rows never pollute your stats.
- Rest. If the exercise has a rest duration set, completing a set starts a countdown automatically — you’ll see it ticking in the app bar. Tap it to adjust (−15s, Skip, +15s). The timer keeps working with your phone locked.
- Tap Add Set for the next set, or Add Exercise to move on.
Finish
- Tap Finish. On the Save Workout screen you can rename the workout, add notes, or just tap Save. You’ll see “Workout saved” and the workout appears in your history on the Profile tab — duration, volume, and set count included.
One rule to know: Kustos won’t let you finish a workout with zero completed sets, so an accidental tap on Finish can’t save an empty session.
Next time, beat your numbers
From your second session on, the PREVIOUS column shows what you lifted last time next to every set. That’s the core loop: see last session’s numbers, beat them, repeat.
Coming from another app? You don’t have to start from zero — bring your history with you. See Import your Hevy history or Import your Strong history.
